A customer buying website work should not have to choose a shipping method for something that will never be posted. WooCommerce can represent services, but the product and order need to explain what the customer is purchasing.

Configure the product around delivery

A virtual product does not require physical shipping. A downloadable product concerns access to a file; it is not automatically the right setting for a service delivered later by a person. Choose the supported product type that reflects the actual arrangement.

Explain the commercial boundary

State what one purchase covers, which information is needed to begin and what requires a separate quotation. If the displayed amount is a starting price, do not make the checkout appear to include every possible repair or custom feature.

  • Use a distinct product identity and SKU.
  • Show currency and one-time or recurring terms clearly.
  • Keep price authority in the server-side product configuration.
  • Review tax and billing requirements with the business's advisers.
  • Link the order to the correct service description.

Check the whole purchase

Use a permitted test environment to review product selection, cart, checkout, order details and the customer confirmation. The service should retain the same name and agreed scope through each stage. A successful redirect alone does not establish that payment completed.

Plan what happens afterwards

Explain how the customer provides a website URL and project details without sending passwords through a public form. Keep the order reference available for support. The product setup is complete when the purchase and service handover make sense together.
