WooCommerce Order Emails: Separate Generation From Delivery
Trace missing order emails through order status, email settings and delivery infrastructure. A sent event does not prove inbox receipt.

In this guide
The order is visible in WooCommerce, but the customer says no email arrived. That can involve the order trigger, the email template, the sending system or the recipient's mail provider.
Check whether the email should have been generated
Review the order state and the enabled notification settings. Confirm the intended recipient and template. A test message from an unrelated plugin does not prove the specific customer order notification works.
Follow the delivery chain
Use appropriately restricted logs to establish whether the website handed the message to its mail service. Then review the mail provider's delivery result where access permits. A successful application call is not the same as a message appearing in the customer's inbox.
- Verify the business sender address.
- Check relevant domain authentication configuration.
- Review failures without publishing customer content.
- Avoid sending repeated notifications without context.
- Keep customer support able to retrieve the order safely.
Test an approved route
Use a designated test recipient and an authorised order scenario. Check the message's package name, currency, amount and next steps as well as whether it arrived. Do not send payment-related tests to real customers or count them as real purchases.
Document ownership
The store maintainer, host and mail provider may each control a different part of the path. Record who maintains the sender configuration and how failures are reviewed. A reliable order experience includes understandable communication, but no integration can guarantee that every recipient's provider will place every message in the inbox.
