PayPal Checkout Options Depend on Your Merchant Setup
Check merchant eligibility, currency and plugin configuration before promising specific PayPal payment options. Keep the existing secure order flow.

In this guide
Installing a PayPal plugin does not mean every payment method will appear for every buyer. The merchant account, country, currency, integration and buyer context can affect available options.
Verify the actual merchant connection
Use the supported plugin onboarding and account screens. Confirm which business receives payments and whether the integration is in live or test mode. Do not choose a different country simply to reveal options that the business is not eligible to use.
Separate a missing button from a failed payment
A method may be unavailable before checkout, or a displayed method may fail during approval. Record the selected product, currency, browser and safe error reference. Never publish private credentials or complete customer payment details in a support report.
- Review the gateway's current official requirements.
- Confirm currency and enabled payment methods.
- Check the selected checkout type's compatibility.
- Test using the provider's supported sandbox setup.
- Keep alternative contact options clear for complex orders.
Avoid a misleading replacement
A manually inserted payment link may collect money without creating the expected WooCommerce order or receipt. It is not an equivalent repair for a broken recorded checkout. Preserve server-side verification and existing transaction handling while investigating the problem.
Describe availability honestly
Customer-facing copy can refer to PayPal and other eligible methods without promising that all wallets and card options are universally available. Ask for an integration review when the account or configuration is uncertain. Reliable payment setup starts with the real merchant arrangement, not the largest collection of logos.
